The Afternoon Bender took a day off yesterday due to three of the members of Beertasteslike having an afternoon bender of their own at two local breweries. Be on the lookout for a piece on Solemn Oath Brewery and Penrose Brewing. We had a blast!

Last week we selected an article that documented a decrease in PBR sales but Pabst is in the news again. This time Pabst announces they are opening a microbrewery and restaurant on the old Pabst location – featuring pre-prohibition era beer recipes. I don't know if any of these recipes won a blue ribbon or not but I love this idea.

The Beer Bloggers & Writers Conference is this week in North Carolina. I was too late to join this year's festivities, but there is always next year. As a fan of the Chicago Cubs, I have that saying ingrained in my memory.
